Dr. Jennifer Buczyner is a board-certified neurologist specializing in preventive neurology, precision brain health, and the early detection and prevention of cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disease. Her work focuses on identifying neurologic risk before symptoms become advanced and translating rapidly evolving science in biomarkers, advanced imaging, genetics, lifestyle medicine, and disease-modifying therapies into individualized strategies for patients.
With more than a decade of experience across a broad spectrum of neurologic disease, Dr. Buczyner brings a comprehensive clinical perspective to brain health. Her background includes the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, stroke, migraine, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular disorders. This breadth of experience informs her current focus on understanding not only how neurologic diseases are treated, but how they may be identified earlier, risk-modified, and in some cases delayed or prevented.
Her interest in neurology began through her own experience as a patient. As a child, Dr. Buczyner experienced recurrent fainting episodes and was ultimately diagnosed with neurocardiogenic syncope by a neurologist. The experience left a lasting impression on her and introduced her to the profound impact a neurologist can have on both a patient and a family. Her commitment to the field deepened further when her grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Dr. Buczyner graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program, where she studied biology and psychology, before earning her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and went on to complete fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Emory University.
At Emory, she taught general neurology and neuromuscular medicine, beginning a longstanding commitment to medical education. Throughout her career, she has continued to educate physicians, advanced practice providers, trainees, and members of the community. She believes strongly that medicine requires continuous learning and that every patient encounter provides an opportunity to deepen both scientific understanding and clinical judgment.
After moving to South Florida in 2013, Dr. Buczyner joined Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute in West Palm Beach. In 2017, she founded Comprehensive Neurology of the Palm Beaches, where she built and led a multidisciplinary neurology practice serving patients throughout Palm Beach County.
That same year, she became Stroke Director at Jupiter Medical Center, where she helped develop and lead the hospital’s Primary Stroke Center. Her work included establishing clinical protocols, educating multidisciplinary medical teams, and expanding community education surrounding stroke recognition, prevention, and treatment.
Dr. Buczyner has also held academic appointments with the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University schools of medicine and has served in leadership positions across hospital systems and private-practice neurology. She previously served on the board of First Choice Neurology, one of the largest private neurology organizations in the United States, as well as on Jupiter Medical Center’s Medical Executive Committee.
Today, Dr. Buczyner is particularly focused on the transformation occurring in Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive medicine. Advances in blood-based and imaging biomarkers now make it possible to identify the biological changes associated with Alzheimer’s disease years earlier than was historically possible, while new disease-modifying therapies are changing the treatment landscape. At the same time, growing evidence surrounding cardiovascular health, metabolic health, sleep, exercise, nutrition, hearing, social engagement, and other modifiable factors has reinforced the importance of approaching brain health comprehensively.
Her philosophy is that no single test, medication, or intervention defines preventive neurology. Rather, the goal is to understand an individual’s complete neurologic risk profile and use the best available science to optimize every factor that may influence long-term brain health.
Dr. Buczyner has been recognized by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor and has repeatedly been named among the region’s Best Doctors by Palm Beach Illustrated and Jupiter Magazine.
