Advocacy
Make Your Voice Count in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Advocacy
100 Women of Impact is a CaringKind-led national movement of women advancing the future of brain health and well-being through leadership, care, policy, and progress.
As part of that commitment, CaringKind is pleased to collaborate with UsAgainstAlzheimer’s to offer Women of Impact a voluntary, nonpartisan advocacy opportunity to elevate their voices with federal policymakers in Washington, D.C.
This advocacy opportunity is designed for women who want to help shape national conversations around Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, brain health, early detection, access to care, research, and support for care partners.
Policy is stronger when it is informed by lived experience. Your story, leadership, and perspective can help policymakers better understand what individuals living with dementia, care partners, families, professionals, and communities are navigating every day – and what is needed to build a more compassionate, informed, and responsive system of care.
Through this collaboration, Women of Impact who choose to participate may lend their voices to nonpartisan advocacy efforts focused on:
- Increasing research funding for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias;
- Expanding access to early diagnosis, including emerging tools such as blood-based biomarker testing;
- Improving access to quality, affordable healthcare for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias;
- Strengthening resources, education, and support for care partners; and
- Ensuring national priorities reflect the lived experiences of people and communities impacted by dementia.
UsAgainstAlzheimer’s will provide participating Women of Impact with advocacy tools, guidance, and opportunities to engage in ways that feel meaningful and appropriate to them.
This may include learning how to share a personal story effectively, receiving talking points, using tools to contact policymakers, submitting letters to the editor, or participating in advocacy opportunities in Washington, D.C., as available.
Participation is entirely voluntary. Each woman may choose the level of engagement that is right for her.
When women lead together, change follows.
If you would like to participate in this voluntary, nonpartisan advocacy opportunity, please sign up here.
About Nominations
100 Women of Impact is a curated national movement with a limited number of seats. Nominations are welcomed and encouraged; however, submission of a nomination does not guarantee acceptance into the movement.
All nominations are reviewed thoughtfully through a vetting process that considers alignment with the mission, values, and leadership posture of 100 Women of Impact, as well as current capacity. Because this is an intentionally curated movement, not all nominees will be invited to join. We are grateful for every nomination and for the care taken in putting names forward.
