Barbara Guggenheim is one of the world’s best known art advisors and founder of Barbara Guggenheim Associates, Inc., an art consultancy firm, with offices in New York and Los Angeles that has been in business for more than 30 years. She holds a doctorate in Art History from Columbia University and has taught at Douglass College and at the college level, lectured at the Whitney Museum, and has worked at the auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s. She is the author of what may be the definitive book on how the art world works, Art World, and is a renowned lecturer, creating programs on how to collect for YPO groups, banking institutions, next generation and family offices, and conferences. Over the course of her career, she has built collections for corporations including Coca-Cola and Sony, and numerous individuals, including celebrities Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg.

100 Women of Impact is a curated national movement with a limited number of seats. Nominations are welcomed and encouraged; however, submission of a nomination does not guarantee acceptance into the movement.

All nominations are reviewed thoughtfully through a vetting process that considers alignment with the mission, values, and leadership posture of 100 Women of Impact, as well as current capacity. Because this is an intentionally curated movement, not all nominees will be invited to join. We are grateful for every nomination and for the care taken in putting names forward.
