Monica R. Martinez began her career in the classroom, using her experience as a teacher and school administrator to help her students reach their full potential. Guided by a desire to help her neighbors, she entered public office as a member of the Suffolk County Legislature and now represents her community in the New York State Senate. In Albany, Senator Martinez works to better the lives of all New Yorkers, including but not limited to securing record funding for local schools and increasing access to healthcare.

About Nominations
100 Women of Impact is a curated national movement with a limited number of seats. Nominations are welcomed and encouraged; however, submission of a nomination does not guarantee acceptance into the movement.

All nominations are reviewed thoughtfully through a vetting process that considers alignment with the mission, values, and leadership posture of 100 Women of Impact, as well as current capacity. Because this is an intentionally curated movement, not all nominees will be invited to join. We are grateful for every nomination and for the care taken in putting names forward.
