Marilyn Cohen is a Senior Financial Services Executive and Manager with expertise in building and expanding businesses within a regulated industry. She is a trusted advisor to corporate clients, providing financial solutions for CEOS, CFOs, COOs and Treasurers to improve operational performance and support growth. She has been successful in positioning an organization’s mission, strengths, and capabilities. In 2002, she was a founding member and Managing Director of a specialty group at JPMorgan, focusing on both hedge funds and private equity firms, with attention to risk management, compliance and operational controls. During that 14-year period, she built a highly profitable global client-facing business in the alternative investments industry, considered by regulators as “high risk.” Currently, she is building a similar Alternative specialty group at a NYSE listed bank, BankUnited.
Marilyn has been involved in various charities and Boards. Her affiliation with Caringkind is the one which she cherishes the most because her father suffered from Alzheimer’s for 20 years before he died in 1988. Marilyn and her family were the caregivers at a time when no resources or guidance existed. In fact, it was taboo to discuss cognitive decline openly. She joined the Board of the predecessor organization in 1990 to help with fundraising and expansion of support. She understands the emotional and economic toll which results and the need for compassion, expertise, and support. She is proud of CaringKind’s remarkable evolution and ability to bring dignity and humility into the lives of families. CaringKind is the gold standard in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
